Caretaking Council Meetings
The Caretaking Council (CTC) is composed of long-standing sangha members who are committed to the Plum Village Tradition. CTC members volunteer to practise and work together in the collective interest of our local sangha, as part of the Plum Village Mahasangha, to establish and support a harmonious practice space and community. CTC Members aim to meet monthly to carry out Sangha operations and to provide governance, ensuring the integrity of the Sangha’s practice and operations.
The CTC welcomes feedback, inspirations and aspirations from sangha members by:
email to info@goingasariver.org, or through the ‘Sangha feedback & Inspirations Box” provided at weekly gatherings.
Sangha members are also welcome to attend CTC meetings, where there is opportunity to contribute to sangha eyes, ears and voice, through the practice of deep listening and loving speech. Please contact us (email: info@goingasariver.org) to confirm your attendance and to receive the location/ meeting link.
All insights shared help the Caretaking Council understand what is meaningful and supportive for the sangha, and will be brought forward in CTC meetings throughout the year, for thoughtful reflection and consideration by the CTC.
The Caretaking Council makes all final Sangha decisions by consensus in the collective interest of the community, and in alignment with the sangha’s needs and capacity. The CTC is led by the aspiration to support the wellbeing of individual sangha members and the Sangha as a whole. With deep respect for the capacity of our local/ regional practice elders, in honour of our lineage, so that we may continue beautifully- connected, grounded and in harmony within the Sangha and the Mahasangha.
The CTC’s decision-making, by consensus, is a collective mindfulness practice, grounded in the awareness of interbeing—recognizing that each decision affects the whole community and is made with presence and care rather than productivity.
