Our practice on Sept. 30th, 2026 happens to be Truth and Reconciliation Day. As an act of solidarity, we wanted to invite sangha members to attend any of the Truth and Reconciliation events happening in the city as an opportunity for reflection.
During our regular meeting time, we decided to take our practice on a field trip to attend a local event together as a sangha. We wanted to support this short film (30min) at Metro Cinema called "WÎIÎP’SON: the Healing Swing". It is about Dr. Darlene Auger's work on a healing swing practice she created and there will be a post-screening discussion about the work with the creators of the film. After the film and post-screen discussion we can have short dharma sharing to reflect on acts of truth, reconciliation and healing.
We can meet in front of Metro Cinema at 6:30pm for walking meditation and reflection about local Indigenous history of the Garneau.
If you decide to join us, please buy your tickets ahead of time so we can begin walking meditation together. Tickets are $14 adults, $11 for students.
